My name is Anton Dvoryadkin, and I work at Josip Tumapa Design. This is my personal Barong, made by Josip Tumapa as a Custom Barong Tagalog.
I chose a coat-style Barong because it is much easier to wear than a classic Barong Tagalog. The front opening makes it more practical to put on and remove, while still keeping the formal look of traditional Filipino attire.
The ornament was developed individually for this Barong. It was made by hand using calado work and botanical embroidery motifs. The calado and embroidery work took around one month to complete, reflecting the amount of time required for this level of handmade detail.
The fabric is Piña Cocoon Silk with pure piña fiber, which gives the Barong its natural sheen. The calado ornament was dyed black, creating a clear contrast against the light fabric.
