A women’s Barong Tagalog designed specifically for a wedding
Long proportions and a wide belt define the garment’s female silhouette
The handmade calado ornament took approximately three weeks to complete
Pure piña gives the sleeves their visible natural texture and translucency
This custom women’s Barong Tagalog was created by Josip Tumapa for a wedding and made from pure piña fabric. The piece is part of our custom women’s Barong Tagalog work and was made to the client’s measurements, with the proportions and fit adjusted to her figure.
The calado ornament was designed specifically for this Barong and completed entirely by hand. The ornament work took approximately three weeks.
The calado ornament is concentrated on the front panels of the garment. The sleeves were left without ornament, allowing the natural transparency and texture of pure piña to remain clearly visible along their full length.
The Barong is worn over a separate inner layer and finished with a wide belt at the waist, which defines the shape of the garment and the female silhouette.
