On October 4, 2024, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, the Philippines Fashion Show with Amir Sali, Tingting Delfin, and Josip Tumapa took place, showcasing the event “To the Golden Age: Dumaguete’s Fashion Reimagined.”

Honoring Dumaguete’s Fashion Legacy

I grew up in Dumaguete, the city of gentle people, and often imagined what it would be like to relive different eras. Today, it is a great honor for me to be part of this legacy—together with the legendary designers whose creations embody the spirit of fashion and time.

Among the evening’s icons were Amir Sali, an international designer with roots in Silliman University, and Tingting Delfin, one of Dumaguete’s living legends, known for her contributions to design and culture. We also pay tribute to two remarkable masters—Fred Quimat and Alex Monsanto, whose work left an indelible mark on the city’s fashion history.

This show became a bridge between the past and the future. We strive to preserve the legacy of these designers, inspiring future generations to continue the rich tradition of creativity and craftsmanship.
