Scarlet Flourish — Red Beaded Evening Gown
Scarlet Flourish was conceived as a response to evening gowns that restrict movement and demand rigidity. The intention was to create a piece that follows the body closely while remaining breathable and responsive. The gown is built on a sheer mesh base with dense beadwork applied directly onto the surface, without bones or internal frameworks. The beading rests naturally on the body and stays flexible in motion.
The bodice features a symmetrical, almost mirrored bead pattern that creates clear graphic definition and depth under stage lighting. At the waist, symmetry is intentionally broken with an asymmetric draped satin element in deep scarlet, falling over one hip and guiding the eye downward into the skirt. Toward the lower section, the beadwork becomes lighter, allowing the skirt to expand into a long but restrained train.
Movement defines the character of the gown. It comes from the weight of the beadwork and the precision of the cut, not from excess layers. From a distance, the silhouette appears composed and fluid; up close, the surface reveals hours of careful, measured work.
Scarlet Flourish is designed for evenings where presence matters but comfort cannot be sacrificed — premieres, gala events, and runway presentations. As part of the Also a Dreamer — An Eveningwear Collection, the gown reflects a more personal approach to eveningwear, created to be felt by the wearer as much as it is seen.
