This custom coat-style Barong Tagalog was handcrafted for a groom from the United States who chose to honor Filipino tradition through a refined modern wedding look. The piece was made in the Philippines from handwoven Piña Cocoon Silk,a natural blend prized for its soft sheen, breathable weave, and long-lasting durability. Its structured embroidery, Mandarin collar, and clean silhouette merge timeless Filipino heritage with contemporary tailoring.
Each Barong was created under the direction of Filipino designer Josip Tumapa, whose meticulous approach ensures precision and harmony in every detail. The result is a bespoke wedding garment that feels light, formal, and authentically Filipino while meeting international standards of craftsmanship.
The couple’s wedding ensemble included a modern Filipiniana gown designed by Josip Tumapa for the bride. Crafted from fine lace and accentuated by butterfly sleeves, her gown reflected the same artistry and cultural balance as the groom’s attire.
