Also a Dreamer — An Eveningwear Collection

Also a Dreamer was developed during the 2021–2022 lockdown, when working on eveningwear no longer meant designing for crowds. The collection began with a simple question: what does an evening dress look like when there is nowhere to perform, only space to exist?

The pieces are built around long lines and controlled volume. Dresses feature elongated skirts, fitted bodices, and open upper structures that leave the shoulders and neckline exposed. Red appears repeatedly throughout the collection — sometimes deep and saturated, sometimes softened by sheer layers — acting as a visual anchor rather than a decorative accent. Light-catching surfaces are present, but they remain restrained, integrated into the construction instead of applied as embellishment.

Nothing in the collection is rushed or overly dramatic. Movement comes from fabric weight and cut, not from excess layers. These garments are meant to be worn slowly, noticed up close, and felt on the body. Presented as part of the Philippine Fashion Collections, Also a Dreamer approaches eveningwear as a personal experience — quiet, deliberate, and unapologetically inward.
