Contemporary Filipino Menswear Look

The original plan was to create an avant-garde Barong Tagalog, but the design moved further away from that idea during the process. The final look became a separate menswear piece that no longer resembles a classic barong, while still keeping a loose connection to Filipino formalwear.

The look was photographed outdoors, near water and stone. The rougher setting makes the construction of the jacket more visible. Relaxed trousers keep the silhouette grounded, with the focus on fit, shape, and proportion rather than ornament.
